EVENT: 3000M Indoor
TIME: 9:28

Another crack at the 3K, this time with a strong field 17 deep. Mark Talbot was extremely open to an unattached runners participating - so again, I took my goal , based off my daniels VDOT, and added a conservative 15 seconds to my seed time. This placed me in the fastest of 5 large heats (17 in my heat). This was my second 3000M run ever.

A bit of rest after Austin and my training has slowly ramped back up. Coach has me focusing more on the speed side of the house (something that obviously is not entirely required to run a half, however , the faster you are in conjunction with a solid aerobic base, the better), therefore we are mixing things up for a bit. I always love to support

Olympic Trials - Team USA Minnesota

RACE REPORT: Kewanee Hardcore 5K

RACE: Kewanee Hardcore 5K
LOCATION: Kewanee, IL
TIME: 16:52
PLACEMENT: 3rd Overall

I headed to Kewanee for a challenging 5K and to watch one of my athletes show off what one year of training can prove. I planned on a long warm-up (6-7 miles). Those that have ran this race know how tremendously slow the course is - bad footing, virtually nothing flat the entire race and a 180 degree turn at the half way point.

Turkey day race back in the quad cities which typically yields some strong college runners. Times have been under 25 minutes several times in the past 5 years. I had a goal of 26:30, however neglected to scope the course nor take into account yet conditions. Is anyone else tired of wind yet?

Every year I look forward to the opportunity to race as a "team". Although we often wear the same outfits, I enjoy the feeling of contributing to the success of our team and brand. I only wish I could have ran in junior high, high school or college to see how a meet feels like!
